Anastasiia Balagurova

Anastasiia Balagurova is a Helsinki-based information designer and developer whose work focuses on visualizing data with empathy to support more human-centered communication of complex issues. She recently completed her master’s degree in Visual Communication Design at Aalto University, where her thesis, “Visualising people in humanitarian crises: Where numbers meet empathy,” explored how data visualization can help preserve the emotional gravity inherent in humanitarian data. She currently works as a data visualization analyst at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focusing on the visual communication of data in the context of global development.
